Touchpoint Solution

Touchpoint’s distributing center will receive truckloads of unsorted, returned books in quantities of around 700,000 pieces. From here the books are inspected as they are removed from their cases. The good product is separated from the bad product and then labeled with a current price sticker. The barcode format is inspected and replaced if an. EAN format barcode is found.

Storage consists of shelving organized numerically by ISBN number (title). As quantities accumulate on the shelving, full cases are packed, labeled, and palletized. Full pallets are are scanned into the warehouse management system to report on inventory.

When a project is complete, final inventory is reported to the client. Inventory is stored at Touchpoint until needed by the client. Outbound order requests are case picked the same day and returned to the client.

Results

The books are fully inspected and prepared for return in a short time span. The cases are packed consistently and labeled accurately.

The inventory is held and reported to the client until needed.
