Client Goals

To conserve valuable manufacturing floor space by storing inbound raw materials and components offsite until needed for manufacturing and/or assembly.

To enable easy product transitions between offsite storage and the main manufacturing facility. 

Touchpoint Solution

Touchpoint’s distributing center will receive barbecue grill raw materials and components by the truckload or by ocean container. The product will be counted and a receipt will be confirmed with the client.

While the product is in storage, the client inquires on inventory status through the customer portal. The entire inventory is cycle counted every 90 days.

Outbound orders are shipped out to the client’s manufacturing facilities. Outbound loads have the possibility to consist of more than 125 different products.

Shipments will be truckloads consisting of various materials and components based on what grill is being assembled at that time.

Results

Product has been moved between storage the manufacturing plants efficiently.

Machinery and assembly equipment have been moved into floor space that was occupied by raw materials and unassembled components.
